Recently, the 2025 Chinese Cultural Autumn Camp co-hosted by Hefei University(HFU) and Osnabruck University of Applied Sciences(OUA) came to a successful conclusion. Ren Yong, President of HFU and Wu Pingchuan, Chair of the University Council, attended the opening and closing ceremonies respectively.

At the opening ceremony, Ren Yong reviewed the 40-year cooperation between the two universities under the friendly framework of Anhui Province and Lower Saxony. He mentioned his visit to Germany in this September, where he planted a friendship red maple tree together with OUA President Schirrmann. He concluded that the two universities have not only deepened cultural exchanges, but also achieved fruitful results in joint cultivation of double-degree programs and co-construction of intelligent manufacturing laboratories, with several hundred international applied talents cultivated so far.

At the closing ceremony, Wu Pingchuan noted, the cultural exchange activities co-hosted by the two universities feature diverse forms and rich contents, and within just two weeks, these varied activities have enabled German students to gain an in-depth understanding of Chinese culture and a multi-dimensional perception of China, where tradition and modernity blend harmoniously. He earnestly hoped that the German students would become cultural ambassadors for Germany-China friendship and share their experiences in China with their German friends. At the ceremony, Wu presented completion certificates to the German attendees and took photos with them.

Chinese Cultural exchange activities are jointly carried out by HFU and OUA  every year. This years event is divided into three phases in three cities: Traditional China(Beijing), Technological China(Hefei), and Modern China(Shanghai). The exchange activities held at HFU from October 19 to 24 include appreciation of Kunqu Opera, a visit to the He Chai 1972-Industrial Heritage Hub, practice of Tai Chi and basic martial arts, experience of meridian massage, and visits to Chinese and German enterprises. The successful holding of the 2025 Autumn Camp not only consolidates the 40-year cooperation between the two universities, but also builds a solid bridge for cultural exchanges between Chinese and German youth, injecting new impetus into China-German cooperation in applied higher education and people-to-people exchanges.
